課程概述 |
Welcome to the second half of Latin II. In this class, we will be engaging with various texts of classical and medieval Latin literature. The first half of the class will be dedicated to poetry via Catullus and Vergil. The second half of the class will be dedicated to prose, first imperial “pagan” prose, and second Christian literature. |

課程目標 |
The aim of the course is primarily to develop your reading abilities and translation skills as such I expect you to
1) Increase your working vocabulary
2) Improve your knowledge of Latin grammar in context
3) Develop a sense of an author's prose
4) Craft a proper and conscientious translation of basic Latin prose texts
5) Get a sense for the historical and cultural life of Roman Antiquity and the Latin Middle Ages
